MAC PRO 1,1 Original No Boot

So recently I got my hands on some Mac Pro originals (Model A1186). The one I booted first was fine and got into the first time setup "Please select a language" blah de blah. So I turned it off and setup it back up on my desk. But when I tried to boot it back up it just got stuck on the white screen and didnt progress further. I looked inside and the CPU B fail LED was lit but it still continued to boot upto the white screen. After leaving it on for like 20MIN eventually it would give me the operating system not found symbol (Grey Folder with White Question mark inside). So I took out my old OS X bootable drive and even made a USB Bootable drive. When I attempt boot while holding "option" it gives me the white screen and the cursor and eventually it gives me option after 15-20min of waiting. Then when I select an option it just freezes and doesnt go any further. Any suggestions?

I'd see if you can check the thermal paste on the CPU. It may have dried up and cracked after all this time, causing it to overheat and freak out.

try using a dvd not a flash drive. I have had problems with using a flash drive on my mac pro 3,1. The EFI can be buggy on the mac pros from 3,1 down.

This is probably a sign of a bigger issue. Try booting with a DVD, if that doesn't work I don't know what to tell you other than to sell the case for some cash if its in good condition. Some people like to build PCs in them. I know I would.

I gave up on that one, The other is able to boot from the OS X 10.6 installer disk but when i attempt to install it it works for about 15 min before failing the install. It fails on "cannot install necessary support files"

I solved the issue, in a way. The disk ended up being bad and didnt have time nor wanted to spend time finding the right download, so i sent it to a local shop to have him install 10.7.5 and everything for me for 50$.
