While RGB is frowned upon, I think it could make finding the right aesthetics much easier.

ML120's are high performance fans that are relatively quiet. They aren't actually that quiet compared to 'actually-quiet' fans that have a more standard rpm range of ~1500rpm. They're good if you don't care about noise.

HD120's are good at medium to high rpm. SP120 RGB's are similar but aren't as bad at low rpm. The main difference is the lighting.

None of the fans are particularly amazing and their biggest strength is in lighting. There are better fans if you forgo leds.

If you want the quietest fans, get the ML120's. If you want the highest performance fans, get the ML120's. As long as you have PWM, there's no reason to get anything else; a magnetic bearing allows for consistent performance over a massive range.

I guess there is Noctua, but noctua is about $20 more per fan.  Any suggestions?

Same as you, I'll admit I'm a bit of an aesthetics junky.  I'd be getting the black industrial fans and spending another $5 per fan on the white corner bits

Also I can get 2 ml120 black non led for $33, making them 16.50 each

Just realized those are the non pro but its pretty irrelevant.  Any other recommendations?

Same as me..? I like the brown/tan color of noctuas and aim to run quiet fans at minimum rpm-- <400rpm when possible.

From what you're saying, it doesn't seem like we're looking for the same fans. Please explain what you want from your fans. Is it just aesthetics?

iPPC's aren't worth getting if you don't need the extra robustness and are louder than the normal line of noctuas.

Hmm, I don't mind the classic noctua colors (currently have one)  I'm looking for a good compromise between performance and aesthetics to complement an upcoming tempered glass case build.

Aesthetics are subjective. All of the fans mentioned perform fine--they just aren't very quiet.

If you don't care about noise and just want something that looks good, pick whatever looks best to you.

Well I do like quiet and I had no idea how low the rpm of ml120s could go.  I have some thinking to do I guess

They go down to 400rpm with pwm.  They're still not extremely quiet though.

If you just want black fans,

PW2's: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/fkCwrH/be-quiet-case-fan-bl046

SW3's: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/kwgPxr/be-quiet-bl064-505-cfm-120mm-fan-bl064

High-speed is worth getting if you want the option for higher performance: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/jWtWGX/be-quiet-bl070-733-cfm-120mm-fan-bl070

If you want white, NB-eLoops: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/NN8Zxr/noiseblocker-case-fan-nbeloopb122
