Can you OC Ram on B250 Chipset?

So my Ram is 2400Mhz but it only runs at 2133, is it okay to overclock on a B250 Chipset?

thats an XMP profile you need to enable, and you should be able to do that in the BIOS

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

i enabled it but only 2133 is allowed. If i do it through MSI DPC Latency tuner will it work, my MOBO says you can boost DDR4 and my RAM is Corsair Vengance LPX

hmm strange that its not allowing you to use the max XMP profile, well i dont know how much you can do then. you could try doing a bit of whatever as long as you keep track of what you did so you can return it

Would you say using the default MSI program is OK and i wont mess anything up?

yah it should be good

try them first, RAM overclocking and stbility testing takes ages though. i would use the timings you have running for the 2133Mhz though and if that dosent work then try increasing the CAS by one or two and the comand rate to 2

When i choose what MHZ i want it automatically has the timings next to it, i think it auto sets them anyway, am i safe to do this and nothing will break?

yes, but if something does go wrong its not going to brick your motherboard or damage anything. just wait for it to realise something is wrong and it will automatically reset the BIOS to defult. if this happens then raising the VRAM voltage would be needed but i wouldent bother at that point and i would just use the 2133MHz

Pretty sure you can only memory overclock on z series boards, hence hey it's not working.
