At this point I realized my res was smaller then I wanted, so I ordered the bigger acrylic tube, and started the scariest thing I think i've ever done...

Starting to finally get the hang of this tube bending thing. (I only wasted a little PETG...)

I also realized at about this point my 80mm thick EK rad didn't fit the way I wanted in the case and had to run to micro center to get a thinner rad.

And i'm done!

I just have a few more custom sleeved cables coming in with some LED strips to even out the lighting.

Damn son!

That build looks cool. But I have one question; why didn't you strap a waterblock onto the GTX 980?

Oh.

Can your GTX 980 get close to 100 FPS on any of your games? That GPU can last a while longer, there's people here who are running much older GPUs than us :P

It's not really a rush, GTA V runs at max settings pinned at 100FPS.

Then you shouldn't really worry about an upgrade much unless you intend to play more recent titles like ME:A at max settings, where that game really stresses our GPUs so hard that you would need to turn down settings.

I'm running a GTX 960 4GB on a 1440p monitor, to give you an idea, and I do have ME:A and The Witcher 3.

The only reason I want to upgrade is I want to have a water cooled GPU, but don't want to spend that kind of money on a couple of year old card.

looks dope, the case accents it nicely. im saving for a similar build but im still waiting for usb 3.1 gen 2 front panels and new gen cases, every case out there currently is kinda lackluster in specs imo. that or im just to demanding.

That is part of why I chose this case, Lian-Li is going to offer this cable to upgrade this case. (It has a blank spot in the front panel for it.

also did you do a test before and after delid?

I haven't run any tests or overclocked after the delid yet. (leak test finished just a few hours ago)

Starting the OC process right now... Prime95 running as I type.

So far I got a stable 5ghz @ 1.33v prime95 leveling out at 53c

Before I would have been at 1.35v at around 75c with a thicker rad.

phew thats a pretty good chip you got there! congrats.

I have now gotten a stable 5.1ghz @1.375v

Max temp is 60c but it leveled off at 55c

5.2 won't boot and I don't want to go any higher on the voltage.

Nice build! It's funny because I'm planning to do my first hard line build also in the same case, same CPU and EKWB water cooling!

I was wondering where did you found the brackets for holding your reservoir?

They are just the ones that I got with the x3 res. I'm pretty sure they come with them, I originally got the EK "starter pack" so i'm not 100%

Side note: I absolutely loved building in this case, and the pictures don't do it justice!

Also I highly recommend doing the delid on the 7700k, with a smaller rad I still have on average a 25ish degree drop!
