MSI as they're known to be better for RMAs however FE coolers are rather shite soooo... :/

GPU-dependant, yes

CPU-dependant, not by that much :)

Hi, my name is Sergio, this is my first time posting in the forum, i am from Argentina, so english is not my first lang, so... sorry if i commit a few (probably more) mistakes.

I am planning in upgrading my pc in 4 stages, with 6 months between each one:

  • Processor + Mother + DDR4 memories
  • GPU
  • Storage
  • Peripherals

Now I am using:

  • AMD A10-7850K
  • MSI GTX 970 GAMMING 4G
  • 16GB DDR3 (2x8GB)
  • ASUS A88XM-E
  • Kingstone V300 SDD, 240gb i think,
  • A few mechanical drives, but i am planning in using this to a NAS pc, to reduce the heat.

My plans:

Stage 1: I have intentions of buying an i7 7700k, and maybe a GA-Z270XP-SLI, i am not interessed in using SLI, but i want to use in the future M.2, USB C type, 4 dim of ram. Looking in mercadolibre (its like ebay), that mobo was the less expensive. And last, 1x16gb Corsair Vengeance LPX, but i am planning in getting more in the future, that why is just single channel for now.

Stage 2: This one is not that hard, a GTX 1080, i just need help choosing between: EVGA, Zotac, MSI and Gigabyte.

Stage 1 and 2 have a similar cost, i need to know which of the 2 affects more to the performance in games. I must go for the GPU upgrade first? or the CPU+mobo+memory?

Stage 3 and 4, can wait a little (2018).

Sorry for the confusing post, and thanks in advance.

230 pounds difference between the 1080ti and 1080 isn't much? :D

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

He is right, my original plan was a 1070, but with the price drop i can afford a 1080 now.  But if a wait a little and sell my old GPU first, i can afford a 1080ti.

With the 1080TI, i can only afford the Zotac or MSI Founders Editions, wich one is better in that case?

By the way, i have an AMD A10 7850k, it will probably bottleneck the video card, but the boost in gaming will be considerable?

If i buy the GPU first, i will buy an i7 in 6month.

May be is better to upgrade the cpu first, and the GPU later, that way, maybe, here in Argentina, we can get some 1080ti that are not founder editions?

I'd say CPU first and GPU second as the 970 is still a perfectly capable GPU...for 1080p :P

Thanks for the tips.

I will go for the i7 7700k first, i will just look more into the MoBo, i think because is SLI compatible is more expensive than a non-sli mother board, just can not find an alternative with 4-memory slots, m.2 and usb c type.

There is a web where i can search for mobo by specs?

Make sure it's also Z270 :)
