Monitor has HDMI and those old pins - Computer has USB and Display Port

yathis

Do I lose quality if I buy a short $11 cable that has HDMI female, and DP male, I have a long HDMI cable that is male-male. The 6' cable is $40.

My pins cable is too short and I am cleaning up the cabling.

By "old pins" I assume you mean VGA?

Going from HDMI to DP doesn't impact quality, it will work fine (though you can get just adaptors rather than a cable)

Yes its a VGA cable, I couldnt think of the name.

I dont know what you call the $11 I found, its a cable but very short, like 4" in total it looks like. So technically its an adapter.

I've always used VGA even with my new monitor and pc. However my pc only has display port and usb, no hdmi, unless I install a gpu that has ports I want or need but the case itself is too small for a gpu card, its a SFF case by HP.
