Why my i7-7700k is hotter than my old i7-6700k

Hi,

I have an i7-7700k with an Asus Maximus IX Code motherboard and a Cryorig H7 CPU Cooler.

I had 26 C min with my old i7-6700k but, with this Kaby Lake processor I have 33 C min, why?.

Both are running at 800mhz at idle.
I don't understand why they have different temperatures.

Kaby Lake is a smaller die size compared to Skylake so more heat in the same area, and the stock intel TIM is trash causing high temps.

Ye ole' train

Not again.  You do this every time you buy something new.  lol

Kaby Lake runs a little warmer.  Most offset this and more by delidding.  No need if you don't plan on overclocking too high.
