.. remember the low end gpu video, saving for a few weeks will give him something better.

A little? It costs almost 2-3 times for an i5

yes but if you save up for a bit for the i5 the system will be quite a lot better

That is a slippery slope, you could then say, "a little more for the I7".

Oh but.. a little more for the 1080.

Oh shit, just a little more and you could get a 4k monitor

so on and so forth, if the guy wants a Pentium and that's what he can afford to get him going for now. so be it.

my point was a Z270 mobo is a bit of a waste for now with the pentium

Yes it could be, unless the Pentium is literally just a place holder to get him going now, I could totally understand that. I got my gf the Z170+pentium to hold her over for now, light gaming is great, even some heavier stuff like gta5 runs 30 fps. I wasn't able to get her something like an I5 for awhile so the $60 expense was worth it. I do plan to get a k series I5 for her eventually but for now, she is up and running.

Jesus, what did i just unleashed? lmao. Well the pentium is just a place holder, i'll sell it later and i'll get an i7. for gaming the pentium it's almost equal to my fx 8350 and i want that sweet asus strix mobo, i could also wait for zen but i just wanted to know if i can use 3200mhz memory in this configuration, thank you all, regardless.
