Cpu temp with custom loop

Step 2 on the instructions, look at the jet plates, they should be changed depending what CPU socket you are using

Right? but it comes pre-installed with 1151 socket jet plate, I'm using i7 7700k, so that makes no difference

Ok well something aint right, at all. Have you already stripped it ready to refit? Do you have fans sets as intake aswell as exhaust?

Forgive me if I come across as rude, I'm very tired and I've spent 2 whole days scratching my head at what the problem is, I've rebuilt the PC 5 times now.

No the PC is built and running, rear fan is intake as well as 3 on the top, the radiator and 3 front fans are exhausts, but surely air flow can't cause the 20c difference.

Just out of curiosity have you tried telling your pump to increase to 100% speed for a while? Some motherboards include custom software which will let you do this if its attatched to a CPU fan header. The idea behind this is it should get rid of any airpockets.

As for airflow being a cause for your high temps. It is possible. What case are you building in?

The block is mounted correctly, the rubber removed for the 1151? I'm scratching my head too at the moment, theres absolutely no way an AIO should be cooler than a custom, theyre usually not far ahead of a good air cooler

How do I tell my pump to do that? it's connected via CPU fan header but there's no option in BIOS for that,  I'm building it in NZXT 440 with all drive cages removed

Yea rubber removed, everything with the setup is done properly, thats why I'm so confused myself. I've done everything correctly and to the manual, I posted about a week ago about my AIO getting 48c on AIDA64 FPU, and everybody didn't believe me, I'm starting to believe that AIO was god lol

Can you list the entire specs please, saves keeping on asking annoying questions. Don't worry about appearing rude - I was pissed when I bought a h80 to replace my 212 evo on my old 3770k rig - the temps and noise were worse...... its what drove me to custom loops

My current loop is in a h440 and I got so sick of the appalling airflow I have a rad outside my case. Take off the top / front of your case and run some more tests. As for how to control the pump speed, what mobo are you using? If its a MSI download something called MSI Command centre.

The radiator is partially out the case, radiator is in but the fans are connected via outside, The front of the case is already off I've done tests with both off and there is no difference at all, what baffles me even more is the layout I tried first had literally no airflow, it was just the 3 rads, but with 4 more fans than before I get higher temps, I'm using MSI B150, I'll try that

I'm not convinced its airflow, I got a 240 and a 360 crammed in an INWIN 303:

Ok if you go into the bios (I'm going blind hear, mines an Asus RoG) there should be an option fan control. Mines called Q-fan control. In there should be the option to play with each fan profile and select what temp to monitor for the fans to react to. So you need to find the fan profile for CPU2 and set the temp monitor to CPU. Make the temp gradient steeper, making the fans pick up speed at a temperature you would like to maintain vs tolerable noise levels (trial and error) For now I would set them to full speed and test your temps again, see if they drop to rule out restrictions in the case

Ye I know what you're talking about fan curve, but I don't see that in BIOS where would it be?

Yeah I found it, CPU 2 Fan is running at 800RPM, 1000 lower than it should be, not giving me the option to change it though?
