75hz freesync vs 144hz

I want to purchase a new monitor, I am deciding between these two.

My monitor currently is a 1280x1024 75hz monitor, I'll use that one as a second one after I upgrade.

I will use the monitor to play games like CSGO.

the 144hz monitor will do wonders in CS:GO, since you can run very high frame rates in that game pretty easily, and it's also a competitive game. 

 

the 75hz Freesync monitor sounds a bit better if you were playing more casual games, fairly unoptimized games, or your rig isn't powerful enough to maintain 100+ fps. 

but i assume you have a AMD card to go with freesync? you cannot use freesync with a Nvidia card.

the AOC freesync monitor you picked out seems to have a freesync range of 48-75hz, which isn't much. and a Fury will be capable of running high frames pretty well at 1080p. 

 

have you considered waiting for AMD Vega?

144hz then. Freesync is a bit better when you want to play a game like skyrim and just get absorbed by the environment.

It would be better to get that and a cheaper card like an RX 470. You don't need a Fury for CSGO and a 470 is very capable of running modern games above 60 fps with tweaked settings.
