second monitor no signal

hey peeps,

 

got a second monitor and everything plugs in and works but then when i click detect second monitor in the display settings on windows 10 the acts like it went into the 2 monitor setup thing but the second monitor does not get a signal. When go and hover over the icon on the task bar for the display setting tab it shows there are 2 monitors but the second just does not get signal.
