What fans should i buy for my case?

Lukas Dolk

Hello guys! Iv'e been wondering if it's worth buying a new case cooling fan? I have a Acer Preadator g3-605 that iv'e upgraded the gpu on. I monitor my rig quite much since i care for my components :D My pc components when idle is about 45-50 degrees and when gaming i get up to 60 degrees celcius temperature. Some fo you may say well that's not much and some will say that's quite hot since i know this subject of heat is a kind of preferal topic! But i want to keep my rig a bit cooler than that since even my case get's up in temp when the graphicscard get's to work haha. I would just know if you guys have any tip on a good fan but for a reasonable price :) If you have other thoughts about what you think is a good temp let me know aswell, always fun to see you guys opinions. (sorry if misspelled words #Swedish)

the case has a extra slot for a fan but the pc wasn't built for needing that extra fan but i got a strix 1060 6gb oc gpu in it now and it takes up quite a bit of space and produces quite lots of heat so i was thinking if i can get a (80mm?) fan wich is sucking out air from the case to get rid of the excess heat that is produced? Is that something that seems like a good idea or not?

If you mean that it's a subjective thing and based solely on preference, I would disagree. Your temps are low and you shouldn't worry about it.

What i mean is that some people want thier rig to run cooler than what's concidered safe from the ones making the product. Better to have a colder system since it keeps the lifespan of the component´s longer. Ofcourse computer components should have a working temp such as cars where to low can be more dangerous than too hot but thats not the extreme low temps i was out for.

60c is getting pretty close to diminishing returns. Better case fans won't improve your gpu temps by an appreciable amount. If you really need better gpu temps, you'll probably need to replace the cooler.

I more thought about getting the waste heat out from the case, Since electricity excess waste heat, It's like getting into a hot sauna directly after you've run 4km in the woods. Every bit of cooling counts :)

Well you're fine up to 80-90c at load.

What cooling do you currently have?

We usually call the hunk of metal and plastic on the graphics card a single cooler consisting of a heatsink and fans.

I'm not sure what size the case supports for fans but if you want to get a 80mm, it would help to link us to where you're shopping for recommendations.

i basicaly i will just use pricerunner (Swedish verison) to find a reasonable price. Since i live in sweden the prices will differ from other countries. My rig only got room for 1 80mm rig but i may get another case from a friend with fans in it hopefully

Ah, I haven't visited the Swedish priceruner in so long that I forgot there was one.

Depending how much you want to spend, options include:

F8 Silent: http://www.pricerunner.se/pl/184-3521279/Datorkylning/Arctic-Cooling-F8-Silent-80-mm-priser

F8 Pro: http://www.pricerunner.se/pi/184-3623173/Datorkylning/Arctic-Cooling-F8-Pro-80mm-produktinformation

F8 PWM CO: http://www.pricerunner.se/pl/184-3623044/Datorkylning/Arctic-Cooling-F8-PWM-PST-CO-80mm-priser

PW2: http://www.pricerunner.se/pl/184-3506567/Datorkylning/BeQuiet-Pure-Wings-2-80mm-priser

NF-A8 FLX: http://www.pricerunner.se/pl/184-3503918/Datorkylning/Noctua-NF-A8-FLX-80mm-priser

If you're just getting a new case anyway, I'd suggest forgoing getting a new fan for now.
