PC Crashes During CPU Stress Test and GTA V Gaming

Recently when turning on my PC, I've been getting "CPU Fan Error" in POST. I'd restart and the problem would vanish. Just today, I was playing GTA V and I get the lovely Windows 10 blue screen. I restart and decide to see what's up. I run MSI Kombuster and everything checks out. When I start Prime95's blend stress test, my PC blue screens again. I'm very concerned, considering this is my first build I've purchased with my own hard-earned cash. Specs and General Usage below. If you need any more info, let me know. Any help to solve this issue is greatly appreciated!! :D

Specs:

  • Intel Core i7 4790K (Not overclocked as of now.
  • Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO (Looking to upgrade to an AIO Water Cooler)
  • Asus MAXIMUS VII HERO Motherboard
  • Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
  • Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
  • Western Digital Blue 2TB 3.5" 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive
  • Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
  • Asus GeForce GTX 970 4GB STRIX Video Card (Looking to upgrade to a GTX 1070)
  • Corsair CXM 750W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply (Well aware this was overkill. My EVGA one I originally had in there started making rattling noises like the fan was hitting something within the power supply. Being a first time builder, this scared me knowing the potential of a power supply failure. I ran to the nearest carrier of power supplies and picked this one up)
  • Microsoft Windows 10 Home OEM 64-bit
  • Fractal Design Define R5 w/Window ATX Mid Tower Case (Because the case is often the culprit of the ol' Windows blue screen)

Common PC Usage:

  • Gaming (Overwatch, NBA 2K17, Team Fortress 2, GTA V)
  • Editing Work (Adobe Premiere, Avid Media Composer, Photoshop, After Effects)
  • Misc Usage (Web Browsing, Music, etc)

Verify fan is operating.

Did you mean Afterburner?

What are temps?

PSU is low quality. Tier three psu, not saying psu is the problem but you should verify voltages while under load with HWMonitor or  HWiNFO 64 and in BIOS.

Huh? Do you mean as in low airflow and overheating?

1. It is

2. Yes; the graphics card stability tester that's packaged with it. Normal Temps are 50-60 celsius range (with fan curve bc I hate how that 970's fans won't turn on immediately. Wasn't fond of that feature.)

3. Yeah, I've heard it's shit. Looking to replace soon

4. Joking, sorry lol

While I was awaiting a response I hopped onto GTA V. I played for about 30 mins with no issues. I did another Prime95 stress test just on the CPU and it turns out it could be a ram issue or it sorted itself out.

Run memtest.

1. Will do

2. I probably will in the future but I'll stick with this PSU until my next upgrade wave

3. Meh, it was worth a shot. "What is the DEAL with SSD's!?"
