1070 Help

lordofscribblez

Hello, I am going to buy a 1070 graphics card but I am stuck between the EVGA FTW, GAINWARD PHEONIX, and the ASUS STRIX. Which one do I go for and which one do I stay away from?

I'd get the asus strix card

I own the 1080 strix personally, and it's fantastic. RGB lighting may be a gimmick, but it's implemented so well on the strix cards. Also, the triple fan cooler is amazing. My card never breaks 65ish while gaming, while staying almost silent.

definitely recommend.

Snorlax: i7 5820k @4.5ghz, Asus X99 Pro, 32gb Corsair Vengeance LPX 2666, Cryorig R1 Ultimate, Samsung 850 evo 500gb, Asus GTX 1080 ROG Strix, Corsair RM850x, NZXT H440, Hue+

Smallsnor: Huawei Matebook X

If you plan on watercooling your card, go for EVGA. Otherwise the Gainward card is the obvious choice because of the fantastic cooler it has.

Also, didn't EVGA fuck up the Pascal cards pretty badly, missing thermal pads and all that? I'm not sure which cards were effected or if they've finally fixed the issue.

Liquid cooling since 2002.

They did fix the issue. If you buy straight from them on their site they will send you an unaffected card.

First impressions are important, it sets the stage for respect.
