I am going to try to OC a lame-o 1050.

This EVGA 1050, as you see in pictures, has a space for a 6pin connector, but it isn't there. I am going to solder one on from an old card. It will be great (I hope).

The rest of the card isn't configured to use it.

Why is that? Isn't it just the same board as one with the connector?

Yes, but the components have been arranged in a way that does not use the connector. Look closely at the PCB, it will likely have solder bridges or 0 ohm resistors used to configure said things. The same PCB is used in the manufacturing process, but different components are used to obtain different graphics cards.

Before you do that, make sure the power delivery chips are actually connected to those soldering points with a multimeter

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

Exactly! Killing things is fun. Unfortunately people are off-limits though...
