To Wait or not to wait

Kenna

Hey guys, im planning to build my new pc shortly, the specs that i have so far decided are as follows.

intel 6700k for $435aud (318 usd)

16gb kingston hyperX ddr4 for $125 aud (92 usd)

Gigabyte z170mx gaming 5 motherboard $249aud (182usd) is a micro atx board

GTX 1070 Asus strix used for $500 (365usd)

cosair H100i for $159aud

Intel 600p 512 m.2 ssd $239aud

Corsair Rm750x PSU $175

Fractal designs mini c $139 aud

my build is gonna total just over $2000 aud (approx 1500 USD)

my question is should i wait for new AMD Zens chips due in Q1 2017 (and maybe possibly the new AMD Vega cards), or should i just go for it.

My current build has 8gb ram (used to be 16gb but 2 sticks died) a I5 4670k @4.4ghz and a gtx 970.

It's too early to tell if Zen will be good or not

if you feel like you can game a few more months on your current setup, wait.

if you feel like you need a new pc right now, go for it

hmm, my current computer is getting a bit slow, with my samsung ssd having degraded a bit. A windows reinstall would probably help speed it up a bit.

The main reason i want to get a new pc is because my current case is simply to big and noisy, and i need something significantly smaller since im moving into a small apartment shortly. I could still sell my current setup for maybe $1000 aud (ppl sell similar pc bulds on a used site called gumtree for around $1000-1400 aud)

Selling my current rig would hopefully offset around half the cost of my new one.

Intel has always been more relevant. You can take an i7 920 and still play AAA games with it. If it were me I'd wait
