Building first PC. Please help!!

Hi Guys,

I am wonder if this is a good first build, the components are:

Intel Core i5 6600

Thermaltake Black Versa H24 Mid Tower Chassis

Corsair CS650M Modular 80 Plus Gold Power Supply

Corsair Vengeance LPX CMK16GX4M2A2133C13 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 Black

Kingston SSDNow UV400 120GB SSD

ASUS H170 Pro Motherboard

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1060 WindForce OC 6GB

Deepcool XFAN 120mm Case Fan

Hopefully I am not missing any components or having incomparable parts (that would suck for building a PC) or have some bottle necking going on. Please recommend any things should changes that should be made so that it is better :D

Also, i am on a budget, around 1200 AUD Dollars :(

Thanks

Ok, you don't really need much to play those games. If you plan on playing other games you don't need to worry about the specs.

Bottle-necking won't be a problem for you, you can go with a 6500 if you want to save a little. If you compare it to a 5700hq on cpuboss.com, its basically the same as a 6500. I have a 5700hq in my laptop and its plenty for me.

And if you wanted to save another 20$ USD then you could get a 6400.

I feel like GTX 1060 isn't powerful now, seeing the CPU can downgrade that much without bottle necking.

Can you give me examples of games i would not be able to run at an appropriate fps

I don't really know any that you couldn't run. I have a gtx 970m and I'm starting to notice it isn't powerful enough anymore. The 1060 is as powerful as a 970, so you could technically run 1440p at lower settings if you wanted. All the cpu has to do it put the frames on the monitor, it doesn't have to do as much work as the GPU unless the game requires lots of non-graphics processing. Watch JayzTwoCents video about bottle-necking.

A. It's significantly faster than a DESKTOP 970 and very close to a 980

B. Desktop 970 is ~70% faster than a 970M

Therefore, your logic is terrible...

1060 6GB can run most games at 4K high-ultra at 30+ frames, at 1080p very high-ultra its 99.99% of the time over 60 frames in pretty much any game.

I would get a 6500 and use the extra money for a NZXT S340.

Also swap the GPU for a EVGA, ASUS, or MSI card as Gigabyte cards tend to have bad PCBs and components.
