Laptop screen very odd

This is weird..

my friend gave me his refurbished asus laptop a few years ago. Recently I was trying to access it obtain my files from it and move it to a new one.

The screen starts out white.. Like almost pure white except it's slighty opaque.

Then from the 4 corners the white flows inward, it slowly fades. It takes about an hour for the whole screen to be viewable and about 10 minutes for the corners to be viewable.

 

Anyone have any ideas? I've already opened the laptop and tried to secure the snake but nothing.

Sounds like the display is going out, if there's no loose connections your next best bet is to replace the screen

Well I figured that. I don't mind I'm not going to use it but I'm just so curious what would cause something like that. Usually it's the other way around, and the screen slowly turns white rather than recovering from it.

I use GeForce experience quite often.

Many other people would be upset if they removed it ;p
