What is Xiaomi like on their updates?

I think I found the phone that I want.  After reading the Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus, it's nearly exactly what I'm looking for.  But I would hope it would get Android 7?

OS updates, every company is really bad except moto and nexus

Software Updates like MIUI is pretty consistent

Uhh... Xiaomi eh? Well, they do update their phones with the software updates. But the miui version is only updated. The Android version remains the same. My friend's Redmi 1s still runs the OS it shipped with, which is KitKat... And that phone is 3 years old.

It is just an assumption, we should only go by confirmed news..

Even if they do update the miui, most of the lovely Android features will be omitted. And oh, the bootloader may be locked
