Windows Media Creation Tool Fails to Transfer Windows to Flash Drive

Mattsoup
Go to solution Solved by Mattsoup,

Basically Error 0x80070456-0xa0019 can be fixed by using a USB 2.0 drive.  It may be a single event that isn't repeatable, but it's what worked for me.

I'm trying to create a boot drive of windows 10 so I can wipe and restore my pc hard drive, but the tool has twice now failed while creating the boot drive.  Any ideas on how to fix?

I tried everything the support thread said.  I'm now seeing if a USB 2.0 Drive will work

I'll try it again.

How did you do it, I may have done the wrong thing?

idk if this'll work, but you could try downloading the iso  and using rufus to burn that onto a usb.

sorry for fomatting. on mobile

Want to know which mobo to get?

Spoiler

Choose whatever you need. Any more, you're wasting your money. Any less, and you don't get the features you need.

Only you know what you need to do with your computer, so nobody's really qualified to answer this question except for you.

I'll give that a shot once I eventually give up on the other thing.

Don't want to jinx it, but it seems like using a USB 2.0 drive is working.  It's at 87% now so I'll have to see if it dies at the end but I dare say I'm hopeful
