Mic very quiet

GamerGuyEbby

The current mic I'm using is just a built in one on a pair of crappy headphones. (It's all I have right now) I did some testing and where is says the mic is not the place It sounds the loudest, it says it is in the little volume button thing but I can hear it the best when I speak into the speakers. But besides that I have the mic volume all the way up and the mic boost all the way up and the Skype mic volume all the way up and yet my friends still say I'm too quiet and I'm talking at normal speaking volume and have the speakers about 3-4 inches away from my mouth. So I don't understand why it's so quiet.

Little microphones like that are usually highly directional, and probably don't have any sort of amplifying circuit to boost the sound.

You can either buy a new microphone, or you can try some software solutions and see if they help. There is one program in particular that I've used to boost Stereo Mix in the past: http://vb-audio.pagesperso-orange.fr/Voicemeeter/index.htm
