Is this build practical?

I'm going to build my first pc. I want it to be good quality, not super high end, but not budget. I'm getting a job this summer. I'm going to be using this for basic 1080p gaming on high settings with current games, recording, editing and rendering videos. (and possibly livestreaming in the future) I was doing a skylake build but people said it wasnt the best for rendering and it wasnt good with windows 7. I'll go ahead and put the parts list.

So i asked on a couple other forums and since i want to get windows 7 and i want to render someone suggested a haswell build instead. I tweaked my list and here is the fully revised one. Maybe in the future ill get a 970 or a 980 but im not doing 4k or VR so ill be fine. Is this setup practical? Am i forgetting anything? Any suggestions on how i can improve this list for what i intend to use it for. Thanks!

definetely wait for next gen! what are you doing with it? just gaming or editing too?

i guess you dont want to waste money so i will try to be reasonable.

Wait for next gen if you are not ready to build this yet. It looks good to me but I dont think you need a 750w PSU unless you plan on running crossfire in the future. Also, forget wireless. Go hardline bro!

Still fairly new to the DIYPC thing so sorry if im a little slow at this. I just want to play current games 1080p on high settings and edit and render in vegas and photoshop. Not crazy 3d stuff though. Someone explain the next gen thing to me please

so this is quite reasonable. i would suggest to wait for next gen gpu's (june) and get a gpu then. i used the case its pretty easy to build in (so no worries there).

Someone on a different forum made it a big deal not to use skylake with windows 7 and to go haswell instead. I'm pretty deadset on windows 7 though.  So I should just go lighter on everything else and spring on the GPU?

oh that is bullshit. i would go with windows 10 anyways, windows 7 just feels old and windows 10 has got WAY better driver management.

That power supply seems a bit overkill to me. I have a 960 too and a 80+ Gold 55W is just fine to keep the sistem fed.

I put everything in the calculator and it suggested the 750. I actually just went down from the 850 i had selected. Apparently power supply is a bitch to change so i want to get a good one now and be able to upgrade without worrying

Strange. I have a similar build and I come nowhere close to that figure. I mean, I doubt that switching from a B85 to a Z97 chipset would entail such a leap in power consumption.

should i go full tower or mid. I want to go full tower and just keep it on the floor (i have a very clean hardwood floor) but itd make more sense to go mid. I dont have much desk space though. These are my two options
