Sennheiser 518 vs 558 vs 598

Slickaspie

Not planning to buy any headphones yet but I am looking at options for future considerations. These headphones will be used for PC games and music listening. I don't really care about price at this point I am weighing what options are available between these three.

The 518 is a warmer, more closed in sound. The 558 and 598 are within 5% the SAME sound signature. No differences in technicalities or overall quality. 558 can be easily modded to sound just like a 598.

The 598 SE looks the best and is fairly reasonably priced right now on US Amazon.

Although I agree that the 598 SE are the best looking, Sennheiser clearly predicted the hipster movement with the design of the originals.

The difference in the 558/598 graph is caused by a single small piece of foam.
