Nvidia Shield TV Ethernet Not Working

Hey Guys,

So I purchased the Nvidia Shield TV about a week ago with VERY high hopes. After setting it up I realized that the Ethernet port was not working (when I put a cable in it is not recognized, I have ensured the cable works by testing it with another device and different cables). My first instinct was to return it to Amazon and get a replacement. So I did. [Shout out to Amazon for sending me a replacement in just a day!]. After setting up the replacement I had the same problem. 

I don't know if the problem is to do with my router (I have the stock router that my ISP gave me, yeah I know I am going to hell for that!  Even though I have a TP-Link N750 literally sitting in front of me and collecting dust...) athough I am a tech enthusiast I know nothing about networking! 

 

The WiFi works just fine but I want to use GameStream with it and WiFi just doesn't cut it

 

Do you guys have any suggestions on how to fix the issue?
