Is My PC Finally Dying?

Gday folks!!

I have recently been having some very frustrating issues with my PC. Here are the following issues:

• Freezes a lot
•  Sometimes fails to boot up not recognizing ram, HDD/ssds
• Random glitches in games, word, OS in general
• Screen sometimes flickers.

I have done the following to resolve the issues:

• Check all HDD/SSD's for errors (All came out fine as expected)
• Cleaned out dust from the unit itself
• Tried the GPU in a different machine and ran furmark overnight
• Windows Reinstall on a spare disk
• Scanned fro viruses using Kaspersky, ADWcleaner, Malwarebites and Ccleaner
• Tried different PSU

All of the above did not solve the issues.

Here are the specs of the machine

 

i5 750 CPU

4GB RAM

GTX 260

VS550 PSU

Gigabyte GA-P55a UD3P

2x 1TB

1x 750GB 

1x 120GB ssd

Corsair H60 cooler.

 

Any help is really really appreciated!

prolly the SATA controller is weakening, if the drives are dropping in and out.

I'm guessing there is no fix or a way to confirm that....

Well an average lifespan of a pc is 4-5 years but it's best if you do some research before springing towards a new pc.

also check the power supply (drives and devices) could be faltering.

I have considered buying a new PC. All I want to buy is CPU, RAM and Mobo. I have them in mind right now but I have no money currently.

Question, how old is your monitor?

Pretty new. I forgot to mention I tested it with another pc aswell as cables

Not an expert on this, but it does feel like it's in order for an upgrade or a new build.

 

If you lack money, there might be deals around if you look hard enough and make contacts. Could be something fun to read on the forums!

Run advanced system care 9 and check over all the connections, if nothing then start digging the grave.

I plan on doing a used part build for a temp pc. I will prob buy an all new pc at the end of this year

GTX 260 owner I see  I would say you might be looking at sata controller issues like @airdeano said and just overall motherboard issues due to age and heavy use. If they system works fine for you right now other than that random drive issue I would look at getting a cheap sata controller that you can use in the PCIe/PCI slots, before that though try running Crystal Disk Info and see if the drives are failing. It could also be a PSU issue. #1 Drives #2 Drive Controller #3 PSU or Motherboard Issue and you might just be better off with a new system overall

agreed to @iHardware Shelden comment, could part chase and spend more than a new barebone system could cost.

I have plans to do stuff like that actually I am pretty excited about it because I am new to all of this. I tried to upgrade a PC today and broke a Dual Core 2.16GHz CPU. I hope I can fix it. It just has some of the bottom... connectors? bent.

 

Edit: It was a spare CPU I had.
