How is that an overclock? :D Your CPU boosts up to that speed at stock.

Overclock it a bit higher that current overclock is what the CPU boosts up to by normal standards and just make sure the voltages stay below 1.4v

Intel CPU's don't need a lot of juice to make them perform.

System Specs:

CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X

GPU: Radeon RX 7900 XT

RAM: 32GB 3600MHz

HDD: 1TB Sabrent NVMe -  WD 1TB Black - WD 2TB Green -  WD 4TB Blue

MB: Gigabyte  B550 Gaming X- RGB Disabled

PSU: Corsair RM850x 80 Plus Gold

Case: BeQuiet! Silent Base 801 Black

It depends on so many things including but not just limited to...

- The room temperature
- Size, fin density and configuration of heatsinks or radiators as part of your cooling solution.

- Size, speed and configuration of fans in your case and on your cooling solution.

- Thermal paste being used

- The voltage the CPU is running at

just naming a few factors that effect overall CPU temps.

Thanks all who replied, I am now operating at 4.2 GHz at 1.3V.

Great, now run prime95 and see if its stable.

I had to switch out my 850w psu I do believe it was faulty. I went back to my 1080w and under the same OC profile it was 97 degrees, needless to say my cp shut itself down. I let it sit for a few mins then rebooted went into bios and changed my cpu back to 3.4, the CPU temp was still high. Did the 1080w psu cause it to burn up?
