Sentient icons?

Well, this has been happening for a while, icons on my win 8.1 desktop just move around and delete themselves rows at a time, please help? this keeps happening and it's starting to really annoy me.

Just recently a bunch of viruses were found on m ysystem, i got them off, oh yeah and i should mention this only happens after i connect to HDMI, Disconnect and shut down.

Just recently a bunch of viruses were found on m ysystem, i got them off, oh yeah and i should mention this only happens after i connect to HDMI, Disconnect and shut down.

It's because the resolution changes when you plug in HDMI.

You should be able to sort it by using "extend these displays" mode rather than "duplicate these displays".

These options will be in the "screen resolution" menu when HDMI is connected (right click on the desktop).
