HyperX cloud II not working with phone? Too high impedance?

Matthew12106

Please help, one of the reasons I bought the HyperX cloud II was for use with my phone and it doesn't work ... Ish. I don't even know, if I Plug it in and out a bunch of times sometimes it works but most of the time it won't. I've used the headphones with other devices and it works fine. I've used stuff with my phone and it also work fine. Do you think they are too high impedance i think 60 omhs. My phone is the HTC one m7 which isn't the newest but it's still really good. Anyway what do you think is the problem

No way it is. Especially because it works sometimes.

Why do you say that 60 omhs is above average. What else could it be both the headphones and the phone work perfectly with everything else

99% sure htc one would drive something with 300 ohms just fine.

This is just a hunch, but maybe the problem is because the 4 poles male plug configuration doesn't really match the appropriate 3 poles configuration of the phone's female jack.

This is a 2 poles jack, but it should give an idea of what I'm talking about:

Solution, you could try getting a 4 poles to 3 poles adapter (not splitter), but that's not a sure shot. Might work, but might not.

I got the same problem with my sony Z3, then i found out that the headset only works when the detachable mic is attached to the headset. Once the mic is detached it will not work.

Ohms means nothing for how hard headphones are to drive, sensitivity is what determines that. Example, my 2 main headphones, HD6XXs 300ohm, T50RP MK3 50ohm, the HD6XXs your phone could push, the T50RPs you'd barely get a sound. Gaming headsets are super easy to drive on purpose, your problem is probably because it's a 4pole.
