Razer Synapse 2.0 automatically adds a second keyboard language/layout

Hey I have a small issue with Windows 8... Every time I boot my pc, Windows automatically adds the norwegian (Bokmål) keyboard language/layout... When I go into the settings, Windows only displays my own language (danish) and I can only remove the norwegian layout by adding it and then removing it. Is there any way to fix this? I would prefer not to have to reinstall Windows if this is possible...

Have you tried forcing Danish as your default language? from control panel go to clock, language and input method, then click  change input methods in the language and you should see advanced settings on the left, in there you can force windows into a default input language.

and when you click on options it doesn't show up at all? that's really odd :/ have you tried refreshing your windows? wont delete anything but if its a windows error it might help sort it out :)

no worries :) go onto the start screen and hover over the bottom right, go onto settings then change pc settings and under the general tab there will be the option to refresh windows :)

I have tried it and it dosen't work... I decided to reinstall Windows to see if I could find out what does this, and it turns out that Razer Synapse is the culprit...

well... I found what makes trouble for me, but not how to fix this... I think I might just contact Razer about this issue...

have you tried running it in XP compatibility mode? could be currently driver software issue

I have tried in xp and win 7 compatibility mode... it still does the same shit...

I have somehow similar problem. Using Win 7 and the moment Synapse launches, my language bar disappears and I can no longer switch between US and other layouts I use - it gets stuck at the one which is default.

I have the exact same issue, except in my case it's Thai.

I had this problem too. After a tweak on windows registry i solved this. I don't know if this will solve for you, but you are free to try.

How did i solve this problem:

1 - Go to windows registry editor. (HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Keyboard Layout).
2 - On "Preload" you should have a key (and a code, mine was 00000416) for every language you have in windows, identify which is which by removing and adding your languages on windows language settings on control panel and refresh the registry editor (using F5).
3 - Now go to "Substitutes", you should have a key named after one of your codes in "Preload" and it's value should be should be something like 00020XXX where XXX are three other numbers. Get the three last numbers of you main language in "Preload" and replace for XXX in 00020XXX. Mine is 00020416.

Reviving an old thread, because another year later, this is still a problem. If the topic can save someone from the headaches of dealing with a company who clearly doesn't give a damn, all the better.

Same issues with added Norwegian (nordic layout Deathstalker), only I went to the Razer support, thinking it was me who had bad luck, and here's the bullshit I got from them:

The Razer Deathstalker software is somewhat messing with my Windows 8 language bar and keeps adding Norwegian as one of the default languages (also the macro key names). It doesn't show in the language settings, so it cannot be removed from the system, only in the language bar and while it doesn't show after restart, the second i start typing in either a browser or skype, it appears again. I tried re-configuring all settings and resetting to the default ones, but it keeps happening. 

• First Razer Tier 1 support told me the obvious:

1. Open Start Menu and type in 'Region and Language'.

2. Make sure under the Formats tab, Location tab and Keyboards and Languages tab, all is set as the same language.

3. After making the proper changes, the program should detect the mouse and it should work properly.

• Then I got referral:

• Then, after a couple of days I got a message that my issue has been resolved. I contacted them again to ask why was it put on solved if I still have the problem, and Razer Support said :

Please click on the gear to access settings in synapse. Once that is open, click on send feedback and select bug report in the drop down. Our software engineers will help you resolve the issue from there on.

 

I did as i was told - reported a bug again, added all details for my ticket and issues, and all I got was a Thank you on the screen. I then removed Razer Synapse entirely, problem went away until I did a system update and the software appeared again, with same issues still unresolved. 

This time I checked around the internet, and since this forum is probably the biggest, thought I'd post in hopes that someone will be spared the bullshit.

Holy crap it was Synapse that was the culprit all along? I had the same issue for years, but I rarely restart my PC so I didn't notice that it disappeared when I changed keyboard.

It was adding Norwegian for me too.

Seems like it depends on the region, but for Nordic layout keyboards, it adds Norwegian. Most people who don't have to switch between languages don't ever realize it's been added, but if you have more than one language in your bar, it messes up everything. 

And after a recent update from Nvidia Geforce experience, I'm now getting pop-ups to install Razer Synapse, even though I had it completely removed from my PC.

Anyone know another program that will allow us to use Macro keys on keyboards & mouses? Since they are not that cheap and we are stuck with them for a while.
