a quick question about laptop graphics

madscientist56

im looking for a cheap laptop to play source games on like dota 2, garrys mod, and team fortress 2. I know mobile Intel integrated graphics 3000 can run these with 45+ fps but the question is can the integrated hd graphics that come with the first gen mobile core i5's run these? If anyone has any experience with this please share your findings, i would like to play dota 2 at 720p at max settings with at least 45 fps (the occasional dip is ok).

I don't know - I can run games like that at 720p decently (haven't checked fps) but I have Intel Integrated Graphics 4000 and a 3rd gen i5 in my laptop.

I would doubt it there was a big jump in performance between intell HD 2000 and 3000 and it happened again between 3000 and 4000. I would expect about 1/2 too 3/4 the performance on a HD 2000 part compaired to a HD 3000 part. it looks much worse for the original Intel HD mobile parts.

System CPU : Ryzen 9 5950 doing whatever PBO lets it. Motherboard : Asus B550 Wifi II RAM 80GB 3600 CL 18 2x 32GB 2x 8GB GPUs Vega 56 & Tesla M40 Corsair 4000D Storage: many and varied small (512GB-1TB) SSD + 5TB WD Green PSU 1000W EVGA GOLD

You can trust me, I'm from the Internet.

1st gen Intel integrated graphics SUCK. You won't be able to play Dota anywhere close to that well.
