Hey,

I've been asked by a friend to make a PC for around $3000, although I will probably be only using around $2000.

I'm mainly just wanting feedback on the components I've chosen, and any upgrades that should be looked at etc.

CPU: Intel I7-4790K @ 4.00 GHZ <---- Thanks for recommendation

GPU: Gigabyte GTX 980 4gb <----- Changed due to recommendation

MoBo: Asus Sabertooth Z97 Mark1 <--- Looking at changing to "MSI Z97 GAMING 3 LGA1150"

Case: NZXT H440

PSU: SeaSonic 750W <---- Changed to 750W

Storage: Seagate 3TB + Samsung 850 256GB <---- added more storage

Ram: Corsair 16 GB - Vengeance Pro @ 2133MHz <---- Need confirm that this will work

This computer will be mainly used for gaming, but some video rendering, Photoshop and auto-cad will be used.

I welcome any comments/criticism and will answer any questions.

Also, I'm not too experience with ram, will that ram be ok with the MoBo?

If you are going to go with a z97 board, you may as well and spend the extra 50$ and get the k variant of that processor. Other than that, looks good.

Ok, thanks, I'll have a look at that - its still definitely in the price range. Would It be worth going for a 980 simply for future proofing it? Imo, the 780TI is just better bang for the $ at the moment.

Although it looks good, ill be getting my parts from a local store in Australia. I get a decent prices as well as on-site warranty.

Its just easier if something needs to be replaced.

pcpartpicker is your friend. Without a part number there is no way to comment on the memory choice beyond saying that it will most likely work.

 

I would suggest a number of changes. An i7-4790K because it is 400MHz faster than the i7-4790 and can be overclocked. Although an i5-4690K would likely be more than sufficient for the usage described. A good quality, but less expensive motherboard. A larger ssd. A GTX 980. While the GTX 780 Ti is less expensive, the 980 outperforms the 780 Ti, has a newer architecture, and uses significantly less power.

If I'm not looking overclocking the CPU, so would the stock fan be ok?

So you would recommend going up to the 970 over the 780TI? How come, is it just a better card?

I also cant view the links that are being posted from that website, seems to be some region error - leaving the error - "PcPartPicker is temporarily unavailable" 

The cheapest 980 that I can get is a: Gigabyte GTX980 4GB 256bit @ $729. The 780Ti on the other hand is $599.

I will be changing to the i7- 4790K, because it has a significant increase in performance for $50.

Again, would it be ok to use the stock fan if I'm not going to be overclocking?

I've reconsidered the MoBo. Would the "MSI Z97 GAMING 3 LGA1150" be a good alternative MoBo?

Its half the price and seems to be fairly good. I'll go for the Gigabyte GTX 980 4gb GPU, as well as changing the PSU and some of the storage.

Could I just some opinions on that MoBo?
