Grats, Headfi is your new home. It was fun having you around.

That's rather cynical and, frankly, quite prejudiced/judgmental of you to make a post like this. I'd linked the Hi Fi link simply because it's one of the few sites that had actual users and their insights. It had no bearing on my decision as I was set on the iCan + iDac combo, which has bee well received and discussed here in my neck of the woods. Very few iCan and iDac owners sell their stuff, the product here is covered with a 7 days money back guarantee + 1 year warranty. They are even willing to help out even if the 1 year guarantee lapses and you encounter an issue after the warranty period.  The buzz here is that iFi Audio is pretty good. 

 

Anyway, if that's how you feel about it, I can't help it.....I prefer to think I'm open minded since I'm rather new at this. Regardless, the admin/mods here are free to lock this thread as I've gotten what I need. You know, it's posts like this that can be best described as 'buzzkill, total buzzkill'. You really know how to rain on someone's parade....

That's the thing. There are a few reviews because most people know better and only the people on Headfi don't get it. We're back full circle to my last comment. Sure, owners love it... Owners of magic cables also love their purchase. So what?

I don't get why some cannot express themselves adequately w/o resorting to expletives. And when did I say I know better than you? I appreciate the info you'd given, but does that automatically translate to my having to follow them? Am I not entitled to my own opinion? You fail to understand that NOT all of us are from the US, where, undoubtedly, choices open up for the prospective buyers. I do not wish to deal with shipping cost should I have to RMA a product. 

 

You make it sound like it's a personal affront to you that I'd chosen to buy what I wish to buy since it's MY OWN MONEY! Again, I appreciate your input, but I don't have to heed them.....my choice, my money!

You're technically allowed to have any opinion on anything, just as I am allowed to have an opinion of you based on your opinions on other things. Don't make me waste more time answering questions you already know the answers to.

 

My choice my money, what a useless phrase. A more useful path to go down would be to pick one of the two:
A. My choice, my indulgence!

B. My choice, my delusion!

 

If you buy something knowing it won't sound better for some other weird reason(s), good for you, but if you're deluded, then no.

Why the headfi hate? It's just a group of people really passionate about sound quality and there are lots of different personal experiences you can learn from. Just remember to always use your BS detector and know that everyone's preferences and hearing is a little different. :)
