Case fans for Corsair Carbide 300R

Go to solution Solved by acolombo,

I currently have a 300R, I've put two 140mm fans at the front intaking the air, and two at the top exausting the air; also the stock 120mm is still on the rear, I only got rid of the metal screws and used some rubber ones. If you don't know what to choose between SP and AF, AF stands for Air Flow and SP stands for Static Pressure.

For the side panel and the case in general you should use the AF ones, the SP ones are good only for dissipators and radiators, when they are directly mounted against a heat source.

Look at these two videos:

Hey all,

Basically I would like to know what fans are very suited to be used on the side panel of the Corsair Carbide 300R. I'm leaning towards the Corsair SP120 but since the case has room for 140mm fans on the side I think that maybe I should just put 140mm in. However when looking around I could not find SP140's. I hear a lot of things about fans with good static pressure are better than your average fans so this made me wonder what the best choice is.

So my questions are the following:

1. Are there Corsair SP140's?

2. Is it important to have fans with good static pressure and how much of an impact does it have if used on the side panel of a Corsair Carbide 300R?

3. Would I be making a bad decision to use SP120's when I can use 140mm?

4. Are there any other good 140mm fans (with good static pressure if it has a decent impact)?

I'm still a noob when it comes to picking case fans so any help would be very much appreciated. (Note try not to suggest fans that cost an absurd amount, I hear noctua has some fans that are quite expensive)

There are no SP140's. I would get AF140's. They are directed for airflow, which will bring fresh air to your GPU.

Would there be a big difference in performance between the SP120 and the AF140?
