Browser plugin to override tab activity detection

First I'll describe my "problem" which should make looking for a solution more clear.

 

I've noticed recently Twitter seems to have changed behaviour. Often I like to open links to other tweets on new tabs, and check them out one at a time. It seems like Twitter now detects if the tab is active or not, and only start to load once I select the tab. It is not already there and wasting my time.

 

Another scenario is Twitch. I've noticed if I go to check something on another tab while it is playing, often it will reduce to a very low bitrate and it doesn't seem to recover (not in the time I've waited) without refreshing. I guess they're thinking, if the tab isn't visible or active, then they don't need to send high quality video.

 

So basically is there some plugin that can fool these pages to always think I'm looking at the page regardless if I'm elsewhere?

Not so sure on the twitter one, but I have experienced this with Twitch as well. Only way I've found around it was to pull it open into a whole new window rather than a tab and it works like a charm and never lowers bitrate and falls behind.

on that note as well, I don't think the experience is necessarily from the website themselves, but more the web browser as it never use to do it on twitch until updates from browsers changes the behaviors.

Regardless if it is the browser or the site, it'll be nice not to have it do that.

true I also think this might be browser related... hmm this is on desktop? i don't use any sm on my computer (the thought alone is insane) but if this is on mobile Samsung internet Beta does not have this behavior (and works on any android phone)

I just tried Twitter on both Chrome (my usual) and Edge on Windows. Both do exactly the same thing, the Twitter page doesn't fully load until it is selected.

I just did some testing too, from 5 twitter tabs I opened in the background, it only fully loaded 1 (the middle one weirdly) 

Tho it did only take like a split second to load the other tabs... so yeah that seems to be twitter specific somehow... if this is new im sure someone will make an add-on to circumvent this, though I'm not aware of anything like this.
