Unraid Kworker Cpu 100%

Hay guys, I have a unique problem that is not well documented.

bellow I have attached some links to sites that seemed like the same problem BUT solution was not found.

Also make sure you're running the latest stable release before doing anything.

But UnRAID have their own support forum, I suggest running a diagnostic and posting it on UnRAID forums for help

Alright guys a little update, I was able to get it under control, I am still not 100% sure what the darn issue was, but installing nerd tools and adding packages for Linux-kernels solved it. strange, now I am dealing with failing drives left and right. joys of using crappy hardware.

Hay, sorry that I didn't get back to you quickly, what I did was install nerdtools,( https://forums.unraid.net/topic/35866-unraid-6-nerdpack-cli-tools-iftop-iotop-screen-kbd-etc/ ) and installed the proper kernel for my system. I found that the kernel it was using didn't work properly.

I recommend trying the "Next" branch releases. Unraid 6.9.0-rc2 is available in that release channel, and is a huge update to 6.8.x with the 5.x linux kernel. 

I had a Kworker issue when I was on 6.8.x and it resolved after the move.

perhaps i will try it at some point, running on windows server 2019 right now for its built in hypervisor.

Hi,

 

I'm having the same issue with an Epyc processor, either one or two cores are stuck at 98-100%.

 

After every reboot of Unraid v6.9.2, a different core is consumed:

What have you added in nerd-tools to solve the issue?
