Thermal Paste/Pad Recommendations

Hello All,

 

I am wanting to repaste and replace the pads on my wifes laptop and also my desktop. The reason being simply that I am bored and want to and we have had these devices long enough that I know my desktop needs it and my wife's laptop could benefit from it. What are your recommendations and favorites for pads and pastes?

for desktop, i just use genetic paste, as long as it's not junk, the perf shouldnt be too different from premium expensive stuff

 

for laptop, cpu and gpu die uses the same generic paste, but some laptop uses thermal pad for their VRM/VRAM, and those come in different thickness so it depends on what thickness is used

 

and if you meant graphite pad when you say pad, then it's not worth using it unless u swap coolers often, because the performance is not great

get Gelid GC Extreme paste, it's great for low-pressure situations like laptops.
