Need help with pcie

Rileypoio

Hi I’ve just got a new build wich doesn’t have wifi.

specs;

ryzen 5 2600

asus prime b450m-a

gtx 1650 super oc

neo forza faye 3200mhz 16gb

my question is adding a wifi pcie card will that decrease GPU performance due to less lanes? I’m not sure with pcie express lanes and how they work?

16x gpu

1x wireless adapter

how does it work out equally with much performance drop?

Zen+ also has 20 PCIe lanes iirc? So your GPU will run at full 16x bandwidth, even if you install a WIFI card.

Regardless, your 1650S will barely saturate even a 4x 3.0 slot, so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Desktop: Intel Core i9-9900K | ASUS Strix Z390-F | G.Skill Trident Z Neo 2x16GB 3200MHz CL14 | EVGA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER XC Ultra | Corsair RM650x | Fractal Design Define R6

Laptop: 2018 Apple MacBook Pro 13"  --  i5-8259U | 8GB LPDDR3 | 512GB NVMe

Peripherals: Leopold FC660C w/ Topre Silent 45g | Logitech MX Master 3 & Razer Basilisk X HyperSpeed | HIFIMAN HE400se & iFi ZEN DAC | Audio-Technica AT2020USB+

Display: Gigabyte G34WQC

If the card you are looking at has Bluetooth check to make sure you have a free USB header.
