I would like to put new GPU with my old i5 4570, help please?

Edon

Hi all!

I have old PC with i5 4570 inside, I would like to upgrade my current GPU ( AMD 7850 2gb), also 16gb of ddr3. I have 1440p screen ( Dell U2715h) and I would like to use it as best as possible.

Games that I play are something like Anno 1800, Battlefield, Starcraft 2, Deus ex, etc..  but Im not competitive gamer nor I require 10^99 FPS, 60 fps is more then  fine for me. (I know more is  better and that is all good, Im not ready to commit to buy everything new at this point).

I enjoy graphic fidelity more then all that fps, so I was thinking to buy 2060 super or 1660 super. Im not sure what I gain/lose if I go with either of this option so I would appreciate your input.

Could someone please give me some suggestions?

Thank you!

What are they priced at and what about the 5600xt and the 5700 ?

Your kind of limited by your haswell cpu

Lacks ipc and it's a 4c/4t cpu as well

In games like Anno 1800, where from what I have seen , is a cpu heavy game. You'll be heavily limited by your cpu.

PC: Motherboard: ASUS B550M TUF-Plus, CPU: Ryzen 3 3100, CPU Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34, GPU: GIGABYTE WindForce GTX1650S, RAM: HyperX Fury RGB 2x8GB 3200 CL16, Case, CoolerMaster MB311L ARGB, Boot Drive: 250GB MX500, Game Drive: WD Blue 1TB 7200RPM HDD.

Peripherals: GK61 (Optical Gateron Red) with Mistel White/Orange keycaps, Logitech G102 (Purple), BitWit Ensemble Grey Deskpad.

Audio: Logitech G432, Moondrop Starfield, Mic: Razer Siren Mini (White).

Where  did you get that from ?!

First of all , wattage isn't quality

Second if all, no, a 3950x and a 2080ti can run on a 550w.

Can you explain why ?

Drivers are fixed for the most part, and they offer similar performance for cheaper.

I could go AMD also, I don't mind. What Im interested is best experience even if I have to give extra 50-70 euros.

I'm going to disagree with you there, the 5700 XT is amazing for the money, I can easily push 130fps on COD warzone at 1440p high settings.

the 5700 XT out performs the 2060 and is slgihtly lesser than the 2070.

its priced at 460$ roughly

Idk where OP lives and how prices are where he lives.

5700 is basically a 2060s ( somewhere around there ) has a bigger frame buffer than the 2060 and should be fine.

The thing is, you're limited by your cpu in games like Anno, unless your planning a platform upgrade.

uhm, no?

It is but human, to err, to buy a PSU, akin to dirt,

but fret not, young Padawan, for we will tell you,

what will become, of that, which you have earned

I will not upgrade my platform I want to use my i5 4570 and everything else which is in the case. That is why I don't see a point in upgrading to best of the best.

Cmon guys, please don't turn this into fight over PSU, GPU, drivers and what not. I just asked what can I use with my current setup, there is no need for WW3 over this.

Even if your limited by your cpu

Performance difference between the 1660 super and the 2060/ a higher end card will still be a thing.

Depends on what you find good enough for your budget, from these prices , the 5700 is the sweet spot.

I run an i5 4570 with a GTX 1060. My frames are significantly worse that what I could get with even a 6th gen CPU. I struggle to run Witcher 3 at medium-high settings at 60fps 1080p. Any of the newer titles will bother you tons, especially at 1440p.

My point is, I think you should buy what's cheaper. The performance differences will be a lot more marginal than the numbers you see online.

Wouldn't that be huge bottleneck? CPU wouldn't be able to keep up?

I really don't know this stuff so sorry if I ask stupid questions.

Technically yes, but that won't mean that you won't notice a performance uplift with a 5700 compared to a 1660 super.

Ok, would you be able to guess how big of a difference would that be? Just to point out, I have 1440p screen with max 60fps, so there is no reason to have more then that.

6GB. Many of the older titles run fine. But I've tried Farcry 5, Assassins' Creed Odyssey and a few other games. Barely getting 50fps at 1080p medium-high settings. Also, lots of fps spikes and dips. Theoretically, should be better at 1440p, but with this ancient CPU? I wouldn't bet on it.

Im not happy about that, on the other hand I cannot expect some stellar performance from 7 year old platform.
