RAM Speed isnt the only relevant thing regarding RAM. Here is a calculator

I would suggest waiting till the lauch of the 3600XT and then buying the 3600 (or if you can afford it the 3600XT) and pair it with good RAM. It's not really much of a price difference

Edit:

If both have got a CAS-latency of 16 the 3600Mhz is better

Windows 11 Pro 22H2

Ryzen 3600

Gigabyte B450M DS3H

GIGABYTE RTX 2080 GAMING OC

G.Skill Aegis 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory

im tryna figure out the better pairing for gaming

I don't think it will be RAM or CPU holding back your games frames. Of course it depends on what you play and at what refresh rate you game with but at around 75 fps my 3600x is utilized at around 30-55% most of the time. This appears consistent across the games I play and while the CPU is being tasked in the background by Rainmeter, 5 docks and god knows how many of these goddamn game launchers we need these days.

I'm just running 3200 MHz CL 16 HyperX sticks.
