Is it possible in any way to use an Ethernet connection on a mobile phone?

That depends if your phone has a port, which supports Ethernet dongle and whether it has the necessary kernel module/configuration. Generally the answer is no. Some Android phones can be tweaked to support, but that involves unlocking bootloader, flashing custom kernels and rooting.
