really bad fps gtav

only a few settings high some lows, i get 40 fps, same resolution, same gpu basically. why is my fps so bad? i have 8086k, close enough to 8700k, yet that. why qnd how do i fix it?

so 50+ fps loss because os? i thought it was maybe 30 or so id lose since people say "slight lag" usually. weird.

could it be the driver? 418 nvidia propriatary. i can swap to 430 with just a click but steam itself doesnt open on 430.

One thing I noticed is that gta runs very strangely with gsync. Basically, it would force vsync on and halve my refresh rate even when I was running under my panel's refresh rate. My solution was to leave gsync enabled and use fastsync instead of vsync on. And turn vsync off in game. My framerate started acting correctly after I did this. Even if you aren't using gsync, it's worth a shot.

im using a 60htz tv with 1080p resolution. ill try this when i can.

if not is there a bottleneck that severe? 8086k +16gb ram and 1060 6gb. have an ssd, but soom will have 120gb nvme ssd as boot drive/os holder, and 1tb ssd as storage for else. the nvme is for a slight speed boost.

If possible you should try it in Windows to see if it's something with Linux.
