Everything disconnects when moving files over the network

crispy345

Okay, had this happen today.

My server is running

a) My Minecraft server (about 2-3 players every hour)

b ) A FTP server (people check in every hour or so)

c) uTorrent, seeding (10 torrents ATM)

d) IP-cam server

e) My 8TB's worth of storage space

Here's the problem that occured today.

It happens at random, but escpecially when I stream/copy files to my main desktop

At some weird moments the stream/file copy will lock up, and on my server all the users on my Minecraft server will be disconnected.

I am using a Intel NIC, which has been working great since I got it, but sadly I have these problems now.

I also tried to disconnect the switch at my computer room and run it directly into the NIC, but it didn't help.

Any idea what might cause this?

I need to get it fixed fast, since I'm going to help out at a LAN party, which will keep me busy.

The rest of the specs are in the BOTTOM of this thread

Thanks in advance,

Kristoffer

That's what I think is happening too, but thinking that it's worked pretty well (though with another motherboard) for a couple of weeks <del> I can't see that be the problem. </del>

Watched some of the network acticity, I don't think this is good.

The top one is the Realtek one, while the bottom was the Intel when it was in use...

A lot of spikes yeah

Changed it out for the onboard Realtek, so far so good.

Looks like I have to get another Intel NIC then...

Thank you for the tip about the network activity, looks like I'll have to survive with the Realtek one for now.
