Core 0 pegged @ 100% on Omen Notebook from System process

Hi guys,

 

I already posted it here a week ago, but my Omen 15-ce020ng is still having the problem.

The problem is that core 0 is pegged at 100% usage coming from the System process.

Restarting fixes the issue for some time, until it happens randomly again. I cant see a pattern, like after starting a program or something.

 

Thing I tried to fix this:

Restart in safe mode, full malewarebytes and Defender scan

SFC /Scannow

Reinstall latest updates

Update BIOS

Reinstall Windows again

Let it run for 10+ hours to see if anything changes

Diabled search indexer...

 

I really have no idea what is going on here.

After more research I found out that ACPI.sys is most likely the reason for the CPU usage.

Googling it advised me to reinstall the intel rapid storage technology, as that has fixed it for a lot of users.

 

 

So far, after the first reboot, I have yet to encounter the issue agian.

I dont want to say that it fixed it, since I already had fixed it for a couple of hours only to return the next day.

Lets hope for the best!

It would matter because throttled cores work on lower clocks, and thus it's easier to saturate them.

Well I am pretty sure Windows is just downloading and preparing updates, but that's WIN 10, no better than a virus using your resources whenever for whatever...

Well, im pretty sure it is not.

 

Multiple days + hours everyday downloading updates seems a bit long.

Try leaving open hardware monitor open (it will register max usage ) and task manager open too... if it's a virus it will not run at 100% when you have task manager open...if it stays at 100% with task manager open it's either legit system or bad virus that can't hide itself...

 

WIN 10 also collects data about your system, maybe check if you get CPU spikes with internet disconnected?
