Let’s talk about Eluktronics, is it worth it?

Hi all.

It’s been some time that I’ve been following this laptop US company, www.eluktronics.com, they have very nice chassis (from TongFang, Tiwan) that look very sleek, muted and minimal, good specs and prices are not too bad, frequently on sales.

I love them but I can’t stop thinking they look overall cheap and I have my doubts on the tech support side. I don’t want to talk ill of Chinese manufacturing but that’s just the way it is and the brand overall it’s not giving me a good impression even if my favourite youtubers talk very good of it.

Doing some quick research I’ve found mostly bad reviews on the support side, but most of the time it’s only the bad things that get attention while the good most of the time don’t even get posted.

I’d like to know from whoever owns the: Mech, Mag or even the new Max laptops, your personal experiences on:

  • Tech support
  • Common issues
  • How long did it take to resolve your issue?
  • Material quality
  • Pros
  • Cons
  • And overall, is this brand reputable and worth it?

I think this brand deserves some attention but I need to know your opinions before I can decide getting one

Thanks.

It's not (I've tried many Tongfang barebones and I can confirm this)

From what I see, their support is decent, although XMG is better IMO

Thank you for your opinion.

Mmmm, did not know this XMG company. Are they using TongFang chassis too? From Germany right?

My main concern about Eluktronics tech support it’s because I live outside the US so I wont have access to any once I get one.

I could send it back in case of some mayor malfunction during the warranty period, but would you say this chassis can be esasily serviceable and fixable by any other repair shop?

Hmm then you're buying at your own risk, since there's no Clevo/Tongfang reseller in your country. Might want to consider companies that offer global warranty like HIDevolution

HIDevolution does offer support here? I’ll have to check them out.
