Help! Sailboat build

TheWiz305

Hello everyone , I'm a huge fan of linustechtips , and have been  Diligently watching and learning for over 6 months now , I'm in love with new builds , games , severs , and everything in the world of computers and programming,  and just want to learn more and as much as I can in general......here's the situation and question......I currently live in San Diego and have been living on my 35ft long 21ft wide sailboat for the past 2 years , recently I have brought back to life my 17in rog gaming laptop which was collecting dust for over 5 years .(g73sw)  mother board was fried so I changed the motherboard out , install 2 ssd memory drives and 2 8g corsair ram sticks and now everything works fine ......but I'm looking to make a new build for my self since my now 10year old rig is just not cutting it even with my novice upgrades....being on a sailboat makes things a bit tricky being a tech lover .....is there any suggestions anyone can give me to help me out? Thank you so much for even taking the time to read this .20191116_014219.thumb.jpg.bf736b91d4627dc177da524f42b5d2d2.jpgjust a couple images of that specific laptop I've brought back to life

the sailboat aspect doesn't really change any aspect of what computer you choose provided it has somewhere to plug in

Agree^

How much do you want to spend? Do you need peripherals?

Do you want a smaller case, like going mATX or ITX instead of ATX?

Yes would like to use a smaller case and I do need peripherals,  when it comes the cost I would to keep it under 1000 if possible

What sort of power delivery do you have? Does it have some sort of wattage limit?

you have to quote users otherwise they wont know you've responded.

Is there a place to plug in a several hundred watt machine? as your laptop uses under 100w

No watt limit , it's just like an appartment as long as I am docked , which is why if anyone has any suggestions for a gaming laptop under 1000 , and is reasonable I would be willing to look into that as well

you highlight something they said , then respond to it like this. anyone you haven't highlighted that doesn't just check back in on the thread on a whim won't know you replied.

you can also quote people and just edit it so the quote is blank like this if what they've typed is too long. Or do a bunch of blank quotes if you just wanna reply to everyone.
