Brand New DT990 Rattle?

kevindang577

Newly purchased DT990s. I did a sine wave test on this website https://www.szynalski.com/tone-generator/ and between 15-25hz (max volume) the right driver rattles like crazy. Below 10hz the left driver also starts rattling. Is this normal behaviour? My AKG S8 earphones run this test fine..

Ran test on ALC1220 Onboard (Level 3 power)

How often do you listen to 15Hz pure sine wave ? That's normal, it's resonant frequency of the driver it seems.

Have you ever heard the rattle outside of a pure sine wave test pattern? Eg: during normal music, sounds, talking, gaming, movies, etc. If no, then it's no problem.

If it rattles during normal usage, RMA them immediately.
