Asus ROG strix scar 3 + Vengeance Performance 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 2666 - Compatible?

Hello!

Last friday i bought a new laptop, the Asus G731GW (Asus ROG strix scar 3) in Amazon, which comes with an i7 9750H:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07P873YBW

But, i wanted more ram, so i checked the specs and bought the Corsair Vengeance Performance 32GB (2X16) DDR4 2666Mhz at:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BGZEVHU

Neither has arrived yet (as i live in Argentina and the shipping is quite a hassle) but i just checked the compatibility and only the Crucial RAM claims to be 100% compatible with this laptop, so i need to know if the kit that i bought from corsair is also compatible (i can't find info anywhere) or should i return it before it ships from USA to my country?

Thank you so so much

Oh, i thought i should get the same speed as the original RAM that comes with the laptop, isn't that the case?

Nope, 2666, i also thought was a bit slow compared to desktop, but it is what it is i guess

About compatibility, well, damn.. i just spoke to ASUS via chat and a rep told me that the ram it's not compatible, she said that "The only recommendations is indeed Crucial, Samsung, Toshiba and Kingston", so i'm not really sure if they want me to buy those brands just to be sure, or the Corsair indeed won't work

I think i should return it and just get a Crucial instead

they probably didn't verify the corsair stuff, if its shipped, test it first before returning, I'd bet it will work

More than likely

The thing is, shipping is complicated, the items (laptop and ram) are bought separately at amazon and sent to a warehouse in miami, then shipped via courier to my country, now, the ram is already in miami, and the laptop is supposed to arrive there on the 23rd, so maybe i should ask them to return the ram and get a Crucial instead, just to be sure and avoid the risk

Is there a performance difference between the Corsair Vengeance and the Crucial rams?

no they both use samsung and micron nand, corsair ram is a little bigger for a larger heat spreader compared to crucial. If you can return it, go for it

I see, great then, i was worried i'd loose some performance there

I'll contact them tomorrow morning, wish me luck haha

Thank you so much for your help

Just to follow up

Everything went fine (so far), i asked for the Corsair ram to be returned and i'm awaiting refund, then i'll buy the Crucial kit, which is guaranteed to be compatible, i did loose a couple of bucks for the shipping but since the Crucial ram is cheaper (about $15), i broke even

Thank you for the help!
