Comparing two TV's, one doesn't have much by way of reviews by the spec sheet is bangin

imbrock

TV One, a Sharp Aquos 4k HDR with localised dimming

This TV has Direct led backlighting     related to the localised dimming. The spec sheet says the contrast ratio is only 1200:1 which sounds like it'll have muddy blacks but my understanding is that this should be corrected by the localised dimming? I cant seem to find a really comprehensive review for this TV

I was unable to find any reviews or in depth spec analysis for this TV that was more current than 2016 and early 2018 which appears to be separate older models. I would really like something like this as I would be interested in seeing a nits measurement, and possibly some FOV measurements for it.

TV Two, Samsung Smart 4K HDR

This TV has edge led backlighting and a peak brightness of 300 nits. Static contrast ratio of 5000:1.

All I really care about here is picture quality and gaming response time. Audio is all handled externally, as are all smart functions, and media playing so I don't really care about apps or upscaling or anything.

Based on the localised dimming I am leaning towards to Sharp TV, I was just wondering if anyone had any direct experience with especially those TV's but really any of the ones I've mentioned above.

I'd just like to thank anyone thats read through all that in advance.

Thank you!

i have the 7100...local dimming sucks...(got educated on it lol) the 7100 series is the last samsung that doesnt have it. the 7100 looks really good in a dark room, just as good in a bright room. i dont see any "bleed" in full dark screen

if the tv detects your using a computer you dont need to enable game mode. in computer mode or game mode it like 13ms which is good..i use it for all kinds of gaming (apex, pubg, dbd, and so on)

the only issue with the 7100 is the Motion Interpolation causes soap opera effect and recommend turning judder reduction down when watching hdr stuff. it still happens but not as bad and you get used to it (samsungs way of doing hdr)

as for the sharp. yea there isnt anything really on it (usually not a good sign)..not what resolutions it supports or anything. but i found this Sharp LC-75N8000U ...this should be the same thing (yea the one your looking at says 8003) but that may be their regional or store type(like samsung is ru7100 or nu7100) and reading says its response time is in the 50.9ms not good for gaming

also Lacks HDR and wide color gamut. so hdr color isnt that good in that series

and that article says the LG75UH8500 is a better lg tv over 8000

looking over specs on 8003's from a couple other sites

not sure if this matters but looks like the lg might be app limited. samsung has a huge library
also lg has only 2 hdmi 2.0 the other 2 are 1.4....samsung has 4 hdmi 2.0

any other questions on the 7100 just ask. but yea best i can come up with on the sharp

oh example what local dimming does and why people want it off
local dimming
