Zip tying an aio to the backplate on my gpu?

Anyone zip tie an aio to the backplate of their gpu? What happened? Did it help cool? Any pictures would be great.

Im planing on doing this to my zotac 980ti Amp! Extreme with my Corsair h45 which i have lying around. Thanks

I was going to leave the original heatsink, fans and backplate on so that would keep the vrm cool, just thinking zip tying an aio to the backplate is weird and i dont know if anyone has done that.0

Wait, you'd want to cool the backplate, not the GPU chip? Thta's not how I understood your question. Interesting idea, but I guess pointless as well.

yh, thought it would be, just bored and thought of that just for an extra little bit of performance

Maybe using a fan would be a better solution, a fan that would blow onto the plate.

Fan won’t do as much but it help a lot. 

Really depends on the card and the backplate being used. 

I just added water blocks to my back plates and added them to the loop.

Ah ok, thank you, mine wouldnt be anywhere near that sophisticated but yours looks really good. Did you just have the blocks laying around or did you specifically buy it for this purpose?

I was bored and did it for a purpose. As my cards having vram on the back and the Backplates reaching 80c. Wanted to do it just because. Ek backplates hold in another 20c compared to the evga ones offered for those cards.

I did something sort-of similar a while back lol. I ended up getting some of those cheap-o stick-on heatsinks off Amazon for the memory and VRM's and this old 960 overclocked like a champ. Ended up selling it to a guy who saw it on my Facebook and thought it was really cool (pardon the pun). As far as I know he's still using it to this day. This sucker went from 78C in a 30 minute Heaven run on stock to 52C with a massive overclock.
