Fan blowing on gpu or out from the gpu

I have the mechatron case steel version which I mounted my gpu vertical so if the gpu gets hot the fans will blow out the side of the case. Should I mount a 120mm to the side where the gpu fans are pointing to blow air onto it or draw heat away from it. My setup for fan placement is 3 front blowing cool air in and 2 upper blowing hot air out and 1 fan blowing hot air out the back.

What’s GPU is it?

if it’s a regular aftermarket gpu on a normal mounting position, the fans will suck in air from the bottom and exhaust it to the sides. So towards the sidepanel of the case and the motherboard. Or towards the rear and front of the case depending on the direction and layout of the Aluminium cooling fins.

 

Would be good it you could post a picture with the sidepanel off to see the GPU better.

 

as far as I can tell if you place the fan so it blows air out of the case it will fight for air with the fans of the GPU as they suck in air as well. So it is better to put the fan facing in so that it provides fresh air to the fans of the GPU.

Axial GPU's pull air INTO the heat sink, so this orientation is good (where it is going to be pulling cool ambient air INTO the case) - if those fans were to point towards your motherboard it would be pulling air from inside the case only

I am yet to purchase the final fan horizontal, however, I feel that this is the best setup for my 2080ti. The horizontal fans blow into the intake and the ones lined vertical draw out of the case. All of these fans reduce temps by about 10C and virtually add no additional noise.

I was going to install a fan from the side of the case to point towards the gpu. Other than that I have 3 fans from the front blowing air in. 

 

I guess I’ll install a fan pointing towards the gpu tonight.

Yeah so the fans will pull air in and exhaust it to the bottom and top of the case so it’s best to have a fan facing inwards in my opinion

those small noctua fans at the side looks cute lol

Im with the mentaility of "IF IM NOT SURE IF ITS ENOUGH COOLING, GO OVERKILL"

They're extremely silent with good air flow for their size. Also, they go up to 5000rpm max speed and still silent. When the gpu is under a hard benchmark the heat the comes through is pretty intense, they were well worth the investment.

I'd like to try this too,but I'm curious to know how did you install those 2 fans below GPU,did you get any special bracket?

Those look like Noctua fans.

 

Please do not take offence for my apparent confusion or rudeness,it's not intent me to be like that,it's just my BPD,be nice to me,and I'll return twice better,be rude and usually I get easly pissed of...I'll try to help anyone here,as long as it's something I dealt with,and even if you think I'm rude or not polite,forgive me,  it's not me it's my BPD.
